Ok... I will admit if I am wrong, but I will have to go back through the old archives and pull out the delivery photo of Beverly's ALF. We were always told it was the first motorized... the rumor could have always been wrong.
The 1947 Ward was kept around by the fire company up to the mid-late nineties. It was purchased by Neptune in fairly bad shape, then given back in even worse shape several years later. Afterwards it was given to a collector who was supposed to restore it. Last actual photo I saw of it, it was mostly rust and would take THOUSANDS to restore.
That photo though is fantastic. Many memories growing up and riding with my father on that rig.
The 1947 was a 500/500. There was a 1946 which was a 95% cosmetic twin, however it was a 750/500 version. The 1946 was sold off in 1969 when the IH/Young was delivered. Last I knew, then 1946 was scrapped and the drive train and pump was being used to irrigate a farm out in Springfield somewhere.
Jay, any pics of the 69 Young or the 68 Ford/John Bean ladder from 121??

The answer: I can't remember....LOL
