Gee... I know that pump operator... personally! :-) That was one rough afternoon. Hmm... Let me guess... Your pops? No the pump operator was WebBoss...the squad sidelined him, so he became the pump operator. If think it was because the Operator that started that day had to go to work. Any pictures of him pumping in a sling and eating Wendy's webboss??? PS. stupid magnolia street job, it was somewhere close to the same temps as hell outside that day....I remember kneeling on the 5" with a towel over my head and just thinking how I should have stayed at work.

There were some real good pics from that fire, but none of anyone in a sling eating Wendy's. (That would be incriminating)
I was sidelined by the squad because my blood pressure was high. The only reason my BP was high is because we just busted our asses for 15mins straight and finally had the fire darkening down... only to be told to evacuate because there was fire coming out of the roof after the hole was cut. Right over the old F3 I went "Duh Stupid Ass - We're the ones driving the fire that way!" Funny me, I thought that's what vent holes were for?!?!?

Can somebody explain to us the Palmyra/Riverton apparatus designators? I see Engine 9 and Engine 10 on 24's rigs, and 8015 is lettered as Ladder 4. What's the deal with that? I'm sure it's traditional, but can someone give us the scoop?

Papa Cheese and Web Boss - I checked with Pop and he clarified a debate for us. While Motown probably had the first"motorized" apparatus, Beverly #1 had the first motorized pumper dubbed Old Jerry. Hopefully a pic will follow soon he is going to check his archives. I will also get him to bring the pics of 69 INT and 68 Ford

Ahhh... I've got my old man digging up old 121 pics as well. I know he has the Jerry as well as a copy of the delivery photo from the 1946 Ward (750gpm), the orginal 1211.
