On January 14, 2008 at 09:00 hrs the East Clinton and Pleasant Valley Fire Departments were dispatched for a vehicle fire near a structure. Upon arrival the fire was extending to the front of a 25 x 40 detached structure. The vehicle was located 2 to 3 feet away from the garage door of the structure. After the fire was extinguished and overhaul was being performed, I noticed a piece of metal that had pierced through the garage door. With further inspection, the metal piece was determined as a strut from the hood of the burning vehicle. The following attachments are pictures that I took at the scene of the strut through the garage door. I thought these pictures would be useful for future trainings, on what to look for as far as safety during vehicle fires. Courtesy of Chief Chuck Tuttle, PVFD and FF/EMT Shawn Hicks PVFD

Ops,
Great pictures, I try to remind FF's of this when doing veh fires and drills because of that reason. Imagine the door being a FF.
