Initially Station 361, Station 363, and BLS dispatched for an MVA into tree. Incident was soon upgraded to a Rescue assignment, which added 362 and ALS. On arrival 3603 confirmed initial report of two adults still entrapped. Both were heavily entrapped in, and around the passenger-side A-post and tree. 3639 and 3611 arrived around the same time and crews worked together to free occupants. 3621 and 3631 and A plethora of BLS and ALS (Sorry, forget which.. ) were also involved and critical to the operations.
At approximately 6:30 AM, Mount Laurel EMS and Fire (Station 369, Rescue 369, Task Force 3656, Medic 35 & 32) were dispatched to the New Jersey Turnpike, Northbound, Milepost 37 over 60 for a motor vehicle, with reported victims entrapped in the vehicle. Engine 3611 was the first apparatus to respond. An updated report by Central included the vehicle being into the trees, with 2 small children outside the vehicle, and 2 persons still inside. 3603 arrived and confirmed the report as he assumed Command. An updated progress reported by CP36 (3620) included that there were two (2) heavily entrapped people, requested all companies in service, and covers to the stations. Both patients were extricated within the hour. The helicopters could not land due to the rain, as both patients were transported via ambulance. Covers for the stations included: Engine 221 & Ladder 312 to Station 363 and Engine 101 to cover Station 362.
