Our recreation director in Westampton approached me and asked if there would be any interest from fire departments in the area to participate in his coed rec league. I thought there would be some interest considering we all have "teams" already. here are some details let me know if anyone is interested:
Games on Sundays 12-15 players per team $45 per player (includes all ump, field, trophy, and shirt fees) he would create a FD division for just FD teams (currently they are grouped by "skill". But we would have our own division) Season is from April til July with playoffs and championships. trophy awarded to divisional playoff winners all games played on Westampton area fields
We would need about 6 mores teams to make a good division. He has our team and he also Florence has a team already in the league. Anyone interested either reply on here with some contact number and I'll reach out for you or call me at the station. We would need to know fairly soon so he could make adjustments to division layout.
Lets Play ball guys!!!

currently its three in the field, but if we can get six or eight teams in our division we can adjust to two or maybe even one. It would depend on if we can get our own division. Otherwise we would be playing other teams not FD and would have to def do three. We have been in league for all eight years Ive been here and it is fun and for the money it is worth it. No paying the ump every week, they give you equipment, fields pretty well kept, etc.

you need gloves, cleets (if wanted, reccomended though), and any approved single wall bat (they provide list of approved bats). They do provide bats for each team, but some of us like better ones. They provide bases, pitching rubber, balls, scorebooks. Being a rec leauge they put in safety measures like double first base and home plate to avoid collisions, only single wall bats are approved.

I hope we can get enough FD teams to do it. It should be a great time for Burlington County FD's to build friendships!!!
