I'll post the links later (when I manage to find them); Governor Corzine has signed the Autism Awareness law into effect, mandating autism training for all first responders within the next 36 months. According to the release, the official program will be developed by DHSS with input from DFS and provided to the fire service.
It is unclear at this time in what format the training will be given.
For those departments that underwent training in the past, it is also unclear at this time whether training received BEFORE the bill was signed would be considered valid.
I'll keep everyone posted.

While I agree this is important, it would be nice if we can get MAYDAY training into FF1 first. Something that might actually help save one of our own someday.

It looks like it's taking a step towards that Cap. w/ RIT Awareness now in FFI, hopefully they are teaching them about Mayday and its importance to all of us on the fire grounds. Chief Burnett and Instructor Meredith did a class A job during our RIT Awareness course last night at the ESTC by the way. I learned a lot and want plan on learning more in Operations.
