Dean: have you tried this site? www.nfpa.org/nbfspq/Didn't have a lot of time this morning to noodle around it, but the title page seems right. I know that for Incident Safety Officer and Health and Safety Officer Pro Board certifications, the FDSOA had to submit a detailed curiculum to the Pro Board for review and approval prior to offering it. I took the FDSOA test, which apparently had the Pro Board blessing and subsequently received a certification from Pro Board.

Sounds like it...apparently each organization must be reviewed prior to Pro Board giving its blessing...so you have to shop for the right organization. Problem is, while Pro Board certification is a good thing, it's not exactly a "national" certification since (as far as I can tell), it's not necessarily universally accepted. For example, if you were to apply to a large or medium sized department, you'd still have to go through their academy regardless of prior education or experience, which (to me) negates the benefit of obtaining a certification.
