Grew up in the firehouse with my Dad at 251. Joined as an explorer, went to fire school and worked my way up. Wanted to get on the job because it is what I loved to do. Took the Civil Service and went to BCC as well as a lot of BCESTC classes and got picked up in Dist. 20.

Its in my blood. Great Grandfather, Grandfather,Dad, now me. Dad always brought me around both stations (West Trenton Co.33 Mercer County) and Lebanon Lakes. I joined up at 14, still there to this day. Can't get enough of doin' the deed.

actually, no one in my family is involved in th fire service. It was something that I just sort of found on my own. I know that when I was a little kid, I loved firetrucks. But. when it came to actually joining, it was something that I just kind of came across and I thought it would be cool to be involved in, so I put in an application, and have been here since. I'm a first generation fireman, and I just love the fire service.

My father was in it since I was little. He always brought me to calls back when it was ok to leave your kids at the firehouse and not have to worry about it. I guess the bug just bit me and I have been intrested ever since. As for the EMS side not sure I guess just the love for helping people and maybe it is somthing from my family since my grandfather was a doctor. Who knows but All I have to say is I love every moment of it.

My father is a life member of Station 202 and I have several uncles that were involved and 2 of them are life members as well. Back in highschool I joined as an explorer but had to stop due to my schooling and my grades. I joined up again after highschool and love it.

I will change it up and say no one from my family was ever in the fire servce. haha. FF Thomas now Captain at station 311 motivated me the most about joining as well as his son who joined shortly before I did. We both just completed FF1 and I sure am glad he took me under his wing and got me involved.

Dad's a cop in town, grown up around fire/police all my life Hey Walshy15 do me a favor and poke this one at your Dad, whom I have known since 1978, that he was a Firefighter before he got the easy job. And to help history he was a 311 member before 313.

When I was in the military I rented a house off base and my landlord was the local fire chief and he made it part of my lease agreement that I join the department. Fell in love with it got out of the military and have been doing it ever since.
