How many people out there have the Carins Defenders. I was given the insert for my yellow helmet last year and I used them on calls. I think they are the next best thing to safety glass probably even better. They are quick and easy to find and very easy to deploy with an almost one handed operation. My new Red helmet came equipped with them already which great because the retro was kind of a pain in the butt because you have to drill some new holes but I would say it is worth it if you helmet supports it and you are looking for good eye protection.

Some guys at Hope Hose have them....I think they SUCK!! I will give you the safety angle, but the glasses/goggles thingys instantly fog, even if you aren't working. Give me a pair of 5 dollar MSA safety glasses and a MP Ben II helmet any day.

great idea for new technology, but if you flip them down to fast you'll bang your nose up. ill stay with the bourkes and the two dollar safety glasses.

Fat faced people with chubby cheeks like me are not compatible with the defender eye shield. HOWEVER, it's safer the a face shield or bourkes, but far from being the end-all be all of eye protection.
