Interesting idea, Especially as a last resort situation. I'd hate to have to rely on it though. There is too many bad$hit in smoke that I can't imagine any filter can catch it all. What if there is a gas it doesn't catch? What if all the particulate clogs the filter? I wouldn't trust anything that relies on ambient air. We're better off focusing on good air management.

One of the drawbacks if I remember correctly is that you still need an oxygen level to support life...it filters a lot of the bad stuff but can't create the necessary O2.
That being said, it'still better than cashing in your chips without giving it the old college try...whatever it takes.
