Each month I will start a thread for the LODDs that month. In a perfect world, we wouldn't need this thread. And I would love to have month that didn't have a posting. Unfortunately though, this is the nature of our business. I will update the thread as I receive notice of the LODD. If you guys would like to discuss it, that would be great. Let's just be respectful to the family, friends, and department(s) of the firefighter that we are mourning. Hopefully we can all learn something from these tragic events.

Just to add to this: Line of duty deaths hit home with me. I'm sure most, if not all of you on here remember Woody Pinkerton's LODD in Medford in 2003. For those that don't, Woody was the fire police captain for Station 251. He was struck by a car while directing traffic at the scene of an MVA. Going through the LODD was hard for the whole department. If you don't believe me, ask guys from Districts 30 and 18, they too have lost someone recently to a LODD. I love the Everyone Goes Home program that they have been running. I think that opens some eyes on the issues that cause these LODDs. I strongly recommend it to everyone.
