February 27, 2008 – At 4:38am Taskforce 2130 (213,211,212,219) Tender 331, Medic 31 and 34 and Station 339 were dispatched to 2481 Monmouth Road (Jobstown) for a dwelling fire with reported victims trapped. All hands in service was done at the request of the police upon there arrival due to heavy fire in Division C/D corner and heavy smoke from Division A. Engine 2132 and Chief 2130 were first on location confirming the report of police and that two victims were still in the residence. Search and Rescue and fire suppression operations were set in place with the crews of 2132, 2111, 6825, 3225 and numerous other departments. Due to the fire conditions the victims were unable to be rescued. At this point defensive fire operations were set in place. Units remained on location for many hours to assist the NJSP and County investigators. Unfortunately two victims were fatalities and two others are being treated at local hospitals. The members extend their sympathy to the family and friends of the victims.
I will not be posting any other information in regards to this incident due to the circumstances. I would like to thank all of the personnel who were on scene.
