I was wondering if anyone has firefighting tattoos, and if you do, what did you get and where did you go. I have an idea in my head about a tattoo, but I'm not sure where to go and what exactly I want. But I was wondering what people had, and what ideas people had about it.

I have a Firefighting Irishman that I made my self and had done at Il Bacio in dist 20. I have had 4 done by them and plan on the getting the 5th (also a firefighting tattoo incorporating a shamrock, helmet, and haligan ) done by them as well. They have alot of young tattoo artists but great work for decent prices.

I have one. Its a maltese cross with flames coming off it. the leafs it has M R F C. kinda like the fdny ones. and it has a 02 in the center cause thats the year i joined my first fire department. Alot of people say i'm dumb for getting the fire company branded on my arm, but the way I see it is Magnolia Road is the house I started at. And I want the world to know it. I'm very proud of it. They made me who I am today.

On the inside of my left wrist, I have a clover with "343" in the center of it, surrounded by FDNY and wrapped with "NEVER FORGET." It's pretty small, as I wanted to keep it low key, but everytime I look down I remember the time I spent on Ground Zero, as well as the friends and brothern firemen I lost that day.
I was looking for it this morning, but Mike Johnson used to draw up tatoos and did a real good job at one for me that I still want to get. Tracing my roots back to Beverly, He drew Marvin the Martian wearing a Tan Morning Pride T/O coat, with the tail. Marvin had a leather on with the broom coming through the top and a green frontice with the big white 1. The bourkes even had flame reflections on them. Too add to it, Marvin had a Polished Silver Flat Axe (another 121 trait) and zipper-up pro boots, unzippered and hanging open, of course. It was real sharp. If I can't find it, I may have to have him draw it up again for me because it's still on my to-do list.

2 Fire service related tattoos here.
One is a maltese cross in memory of my Dad. In the top it has Dad in the center it has our station number and in the bottom it has the date he died in the line of duty.
The second is a armband right below the maltese cross to add a little something to the cross.
If you are having trouble figuring out what you want just give the tattoo person some ideas and they will come up with something. Thats what I did with the armband and it came out great
Good Luck

I have a tatoo, but not fire-related. I've thought about getting something Maltese'ish but I haven't found anything I really like yet. If its something that would look good on a whacker-T-shirt then I don't want it on my arm.. www.strikethebox.com has some fire-related tatoos on it if anyone is looking for ideas.

Il Bacio in dist 20. The owners son is a great artist. Really young but dont let that fool you.
One fire related. Inside of left forearm a large eagle draped in the american flag with 9-11-01 underneath it.

Just got mine last summer. Maltese with flames in and around. Five Gold Bugles in the center. Got it done @ Skin Illustrations in Cookstown, Eric. Went to him with some sketches and he put together a drawing. Took 20 years to come up with the first idea. Probably won't take another 20 to do it again.

I have a Maltese Cross on my right arm. On the right and left wings are my two sons names. The top, middle and center have the saying Blood on Blood to signify the brotherhood of family and the Fire service.
I had it done at Blue Devil Tattoo studio in Ybor City, Tampa Florida by a girl named Heather... Damn, I dont know her last name.
I actually had gone in there a few times on previous visits to talk to her about it. we came up with a final design through emails and on my next visit to Tampa, she did the work!

I have an EMS-related tattoo. It's the Grim Reaper, holding an EMS bag, w/ star of life on it, holding out a card toward the reader stating "Go Toward The Light"
It's my avatar on the left, sans the star of life and the lettering
I had it done at Tru-Blu Tattoo in Bristol, PA by Josh
If a particular patient gives me any guff.... I just raise my sleeve and tell him/her to follow the directions of the nice man in black!

I have a tattoo of my department's patch that has a banner running through it. The banner has the date I started as a VOLUNTEER. While nobody knows if i'll always be in the Boro, I will NEVER forget where I got my start. Its my way of showing my respect and thanks for everything the department has done to allow me to forward my career, and for all of the work I do, and have always done, for the department.

I had it done at Tru-Blu Tattoo in Bristol, PA by Josh That's awesome, I got mine done by Josh cuz I've known him for years. He is truly one of the best around, he's very detailed and amazing with freehand. The first piece was right after fire1, than I had the 'smokediver' added late last year. Not an ICP fan just like the design, he did all the smoke freehand...no stencil. I have him working on another piece for me, and he just started a cover-up piece on my wife. Anyone looking to get something done I highly suggest going to Josh. Pic is grainy, best I can do for now.
