Rumor has it that the new 311 Battallion Chief will be 3107 so that you can be "Safety Battallion 3105" Therefore your number is and current log in is just fine. That's my rumor and I'm sticking to it!!!!!!!! ;D ;D In all seriousness, it's sad to hear that you are stepping down. We know that whomever is your next up and coming will be more the prepared for the tasks and challenges at hand, it's just tough to see a local icon step down. Hopefully now you'll have more time to share with us and keep us safe and well informed!

Thanks for the kind words....I'm trying to see it more as a re-ordering of priorities rather than a bad thing; I have thoroughly enjoyed leading the Mayhem on Main Street troops and it's been a great honor. Looking ahead, I see a lot more Spam being dumped on the old lunch plate and want to be prepared. Truth be told, trying to balance the demands of BC, TO, and HSO is like juggling chainsaws...one slip and you're going to be missing something important.
Another reason is an ever-increasing desire to get back to my roots as an instructor/teacher. Looking around this department of mine as well as this county of ours, I see a fantastic bunch of present and future chief officers filled with piss, vinegar, and the motivation to do a professional job. It's kind of invigorating to watch these "young-uns" and realize that the future is being written now, if we will only stop for a second and watch it happen and maybe perhaps add to their informational bank.
Wow...sorry to wander off track so much..... (we Irish always use ten words when one will do)

I hope you don't mind me joining your forum.

Camden County Voorhees Station 663. I also work in Medcom full time nights. I know, who cares!
I pretty much listen to everthing that goes on in Burlington County while I am at work.(I.E. Nothing better to do) Besides Burlington County has a better radio system and Fire Academy than Camden County does.

I don't agree with the comment about the academy. I went to Camden's Academy and enjoyed it and also thought it was a great academy. I think you should look at them like this...each academy has something to offer a firefighter. Whether it is their approach on a class, facilties, or time of class so it fits your schedule.
It is nice to have you here.

Matt Revy Station 211, 213, 219 I'm hear to do what any good subordinate firefighter should do. Shut up, listen, learn, and do what I'm told, the right way, when I am told to do it.

Check out the new academy poll and thread so we can continue this discussion in a more appropriate place. I know it was my fault to begin with so I decided to make a thread about it.

FF/EMT Jon Clifford Moorestown, Station 312 and Station 319 I'm on the site to learn as much as I can from the 'experienced' firefighters who have seen a lot more of the beast than me, have a good time, and mostly try to supplement classroom learning since I can't get it while I'm away at college. I hope to be joining Fairfax or Manassas Fire Dept next semester so I can take classes while I'm not in the 3-1.

Jay Kormann from District 25. I'm an associate member of Station 252 and their webmaster as well. I am also the webmaster for Station 251 (Yes, I know that their site is currently down. I'm working on that.). I would have been a firefighter, however I have Muscular Dystrophy. Fortunately, I was still able to get involved in some way and have never looked back. I just recently became the Burlington County Editor for PhillyFireNews.com, so whenever any of your companies have working jobs, be sure to send photos my way so we can get them up on the site ASAP. I got into the fire service due to my late grandfather Al Allen's influence. In the late 40's through the mid to late 50's he was a member of Maple Shade FD and served as Engineer for a time. He was a charter/founding member of Maple Shade Rescue (Station 108) and served as their first chief. In 1968 he joined Taunton Fire Company (then known as Lakes Vol. Fire Company) serving as chief from 1971-79 and as an active firefighter until 1992. He ran with Station 225 in Evesham for about 5 years in the 80's as well. For those of you that take classes at the Camden County academy, my uncle Paul Kormann is an instructor there. I have a cousin that just got on as a career man in Gloucester City and another uncle that runs with Deptford Station 9-1 as well. Sorry for writing a book here...
