I was just wondering what everyone's carrying with them. I know we had this thread on TWD, but as usual, it ended up side tracked.
Heres what I am dragging around with me; Radio Pocket- 2 pairs of safety glasses Coat pockets- Pocket knife in each pocket, 3 door tags, Door Chocks, Shove Knife, extra hood. Inside Pocket- Medical PASS Tag, Ear Plugs, Cigar (already cut, In tube) for those long boring calls.
Left Leg- 35 ft. webbing pre-knotted, with carabiners Right Leg- 1 pair Pro-Tech Fire Gloves, 1 pair Mechanix Work Gloves
Mask Bag (stays on the engine)- SCOTT mask and primary hood, extra pair Pro-Tech Gloves, and a clean towel to wipe sweat if necessary.
I also have a truck belt, and a crash axe in a scabbard that I like to wear on Buildings and Dwellings, just so I have a personal tool strapped to me so I cant forget/drop/leave it anywhere.
Anyone Else??

Right Coat: Spare package of Depends Left Coat: Hearing aid batteries Right Pants: Geritol Left Pants: Those big ole wraparound sunglasses you see old people wearing Radio Pocket: cigarettes, lighter, reading glasses, pen, paper, safety harness for 3102
In reality: have a variety of things spread out...spare nitrile gloves, short rope, small screwdriver with different tips, linesman's pliers, work gloves, fire gloves, hood...the usual assortment.

2 Hoods, one extra pair of gloves, pack of gum and mask wipes in the Mask Bag (if I need the mask, the hoods with it)
Left coat pocket - folding spanner - nitrile gloves (a few pairs) Right coat pocket - extrication/work gloves Radio pocket - Air, unburnt hay, a pair of safety glasses Inside coat pocket - Extra property stickers, cigar in tube, cigar cutter (small pocket style)
Left pants pocket - Utility Knife, Vise-Grips, Trauma Shears, Multi Screw Driver, Door Marking Chalk, some wedges Right pants pocket - 35' webbing with 2 carabiners (one clipped to my take up strap), Pro-Tech Gloves (even better after you wash them), some more wedges and door holders
I have actually done several drills for different places on personal tools and what to do with them (ie: self extrication, safety first thoughts, etc...). If anyone's interested, just let me know.

Just added cable cutters to my coat pocket. Made sure to sharpie on the handles and engrave them so they are less tempted to grow legs.

I guess this could go here. I have crappy safety glasses that always break, then I go out and spend another 5 bucks on another pair until they break.
What is a good pair of safety glasses and where can I get them?

5$ is still better than a trip to wills eye in phila, allthough i would think the FD should suppy and replace a broken pair, then again babes might just dig a ff with a eye patch lol see ya on the 6 oclock news

Front of coat- pass tags, glove strap with pro-tech gloves Left coat pocket- small tool pouch with tin snips, gerber tool, adjustible wrench, plyers, utility knife, and multi-head screwdriver Right coat pocket- spanner wrench, window punch, safety glasses Left pant pocket- 15ft piece of utility rope Right pant pocket- spare fire gloves, mechanix gloves I also carry a few 8 inch carpentry nails in my helmet band. They work good as a quick door chock. Put them in the frame and pull the door shut a bit. If things go south in the room, you can slam it closed pretty easily.

Stunned her for a moment too. Glad she was wearing glasses... no interest in a one-eyed girl. ;D

Left Bunker - extrication gloves and safety glasses Right Bunker - section of looped webbing w/beaners for utility Left Pant - spanner/windshield-punch-thing, cable cutters, utility knife and leatherman Right Pant - 50' life rope w/beaner, 12' utility rope w/beaner.
Of anything, the life rope probably weighs the most and takes up the most room. I don't keep anything in my coat pockets that I might need while wearing SCBA.. the straps make it hard to reach the pockets.
