OK, gang.....go to this link, let the pictures load, then go through them, one by one. An absolutely awesome illustration of the old adage that there's no such thing as a "routine" fire.

I hope BC Phelps is doing well; I haven't heard any update on his condition....if anyone has, please let us know.
Several key points I noticed:
1) The thick, black smoke to the right is the result of direct burning of the room and contents. The story in that area has already been written. Our attention should go up and over to the left.
2) Notice the windows on the left side of the building...they appear to be very new and, in keeping with modern design, very air tight. No much seeping through, although it does start to pick up. Note to self for future smoke reading: Do NOT assume that no or light smoke showing from a new style window means there's no fire or smoke condition inside!
3) The crew of first-due Engine 11 are stretching what appears to be either 2 or 2 1/2 attack line....they ain't messing around.
4) Again, from a "Reading Smoke" standpoint, one of the first lessons taught is to remember that whatever happens in one "compartment" can and will have an adverse effect on adjoining compartments. This not conformed, but I was told that the "explosion" was a backdraft that originated on Division 2....which makes sense since that's where all that thick, nasty black crap had probably been accumulating.
